One of the largest dealers of Aqua-Yield nanoliquids shares their passion and excitement for innovative products

Penny Newman has been an authorized Aqua-Yield dealer for only a few years, but they have instantly seen the many benefits nanoliquids offer to both the grower, their crops, and soil health. Finn Telles, Sales and Marketing of Penny Newman Farm Products, is excited by the crop response his growers are seeing. He states, “With nanoliquid fertility, growers are seeing a difference in growth of their crops in just a 1-2 week time difference, both soil and foliar applied.”

Very focused on proving the products they offer, Penny Newman goes through rigorous product trials with soil and tissue samplings to make sure nutrient levels are up and meeting the constant needs of a growing crop. When Aqua-Yield® was first introduced to California growers, many started with a test trial using just a jug or two. Generally 4-6 oz of nanoliquid can cover an acre, so a little bit goes a long way. Telles states, “The level of support and expertise that came from the Aqua-Yield® team, the benefits, and the crop response pushed growers from applying just to a few acres to all of their acres. It doesn’t take long for growers to really see the uptake of nutrition. The science behind Aqua-Yield® nanoliquid technology, while complex, is actually quite simple. No pressure, California growers!

California is known for its diverse specialty crops, and according to the USDA is the most productive agricultural state in the nation. California is the sole producer of a large number of specialty crops, produces half of US grown fruits, nuts and vegetables, and grows more than 400 commodity crops. The golden state also has some of the toughest farming regulations, which can be very challenging for growers when battling the nutrient needs of a crop, environmental issues, and mother nature. 

One challenge is cutting back on the use of high nitrogen fertilizers: a contributing component of ground water contamination. As regulations stiffen, growers have found huge value in NanoN®; they can reduce the nitrogen load while supporting strong yields and growth. NanoN® uses Aqua-Yield® NanoShield® technology to improve nitrogen absorption. NanoN® can be added to any liquid fertilizer blend containing nitrogen to enhance uptake.

Telles states, “Many specialty crops also require calcium, and NanoCalSi™ is a great tool for that need.” NanoCalSi™ makes delivery of calcium possible when selective plant uptake restricts calcium absorption by the roots. Aqua-Yield® NanoShield® Technology is perfectly matched for calcium delivery on fruits, vegetables, and turf. NanoCalSi™ will also improve fruit set and uniform fruit development for higher quality.

Another favorite product, NanoPro®, helps growers cut back to the lower recommended levels of crop protection. “NanoPro® has been very effective with resistant weeds. Our growers often excitedly send pictures where they immediately see the effectiveness of burn down,” states Telles. NanoPro® can be added to any spray mixture to enhance plant uptake of specialty and generic crop protection
